Job Description:

\n

We're hiring a Safety Processor to handle post-offer compliance processing for incoming drivers. In this role, you'll work closely with recruiting, safety leadership, hiring managers, and outside vendors to make sure every required document, report, and qualification step is completed accurately and on time.

\n

\n

Key Responsibilities:

\n
    \n
  • Take ownership of new driver files once they're handed off from recruiting, guiding each one through the full compliance process.
  • \n
  • Request and monitor pre-hire requirements such as background checks, driving record pulls, DOT physicals, drug testing, and FMCSA Clearinghouse queries.
  • \n
  • Review incoming paperwork and reports for accuracy and completeness against federal and company standards, flagging any concerns to safety leadership.
  • \n
  • Reach out to previous employers to verify safety performance history, documenting each attempt and outcome.
  • \n
  • Gather and confirm required driver records, including licenses, medical cards, and work history.
  • \n
  • Serve as the point of contact for candidates, clinics, vendors, and hiring sites to resolve gaps or missing paperwork.
  • \n
  • Keep candidate files, statuses, and notes current and accurate in the tracking system.
  • \n
  • Prepare driver files for final sign-off, ensuring they're complete and ready for an audit at any time.
  • \n
  • Provide regular updates to recruiting and safety teams on file status, holdups, or items needing escalation.
  • \n
  • Handle all candidate and employee information in line with privacy, FCRA, and record-retention guidelines.
  • \n
  • Keep an eye on active files and vendor turnaround times to avoid unnecessary hiring delays.
  • \n
  • Support periodic audits and quality checks of compliance files.
  • \n
\n

\n

Qualifications:

\n
    \n
  • Familiarity with DOT/FMCSA driver qualification standards.
  • \n
  • Highly organized with a strong eye for detail and consistency in following documented processes.
  • \n
  • Comfortable juggling a busy caseload and prioritizing time-sensitive tasks through to completion.
  • \n
  • Clear, professional communicator who can work well with candidates, internal teams, and outside vendors alike.
  • \n
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office and web-based vendor/compliance platforms; hands-on experience with Tenstreet is a strong plus.
  • \n
  • Able to spot inconsistencies or missing information and escalate appropriately rather than making independent judgment calls.
  • \n
  • Trustworthy with confidential and sensitive information.
  • \n
  • High school diploma or GED required; a degree in HR, Business, Safety, or a related field is a plus.
  • \n
  • 2+ years in a similar compliance, screening, onboarding, or driver qualification role.
  • \n
  • Background in trucking, logistics, or another DOT-regulated industry.
  • \n
\n

\n

Additional Details:

\n
    \n
  • Primarily desk-based role
  • \n
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • \n
  • Conversion typically occurs around 6 months.
  • \n
\n

\n

Perks:

\n
    \n
  • Newly created position with long-term potential.
  • \n
  • Ability to work on a collaborative team and gain knowledge/exposure within the transportation industry.
  • \n
  • Several dining options onsite and within walking distance.
  • \n
  • Free parking.
