Mechanical Supervisor

Technic - Equipment Division Full-time

Job Summary:

Technic is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Supervisor to lead the team that assembles our custom plating and surface finishing lines. The mechanical crew mounts components onto tanks and frames, runs the process piping, and builds and aligns the hoists that move parts down the line.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, assign and supervise daily work for the mechanical assembly team
• Read engineering drawings and lead assembly of tanks, frames, piping, pumps, filters, heaters and hoists
• Keep builds on schedule and coordinate hand-offs with fabrication, electrical and controls teams
• Check workmanship and verify each machine is ready for water testing and factory acceptance testing
• Lead teardown, crating and loading for shipment
• Train and mentor assemblers on safe work practices, tools and build standards
• Report progress and issues to project managers and engineering
• Enforce shop safety and housekeeping

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of mechanical assembly experience on industrial machinery or process equipment
• 2+ years leading or supervising a shop team
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Experience with plastic and metal piping (PVC, CPVC, PP, stainless), pumps and mechanical drives
• Comfortable with hand and power tools, rigging and forklifts
• Electroplating or chemical process equipment experience a plus
• Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds
• Occasional travel may be required
